Team

outfitted with all the necessary equipment.
It should be on line by the first part of NovemberJ
We have been experiencing a number of very large patients
of late. If you know or suspect
that you will be dealing with this challenge please take the new (red)
stretcher and the LBS (large body surface) attachment with you.
If you were not advised originally and arrive on scene to find that
you will need the LBS system, request that it be brought out to you along
with some lifting help. The
standard stretchers in our vehicles are rated at around 350 lbs the new
stretcher is rated at 650 lbs.
Remember, while lifting any large patient on either style stretcher that you
need to lift and lower the stretcher from all four sides.
We had to send a stretcher in for repair recently with a bent frame
from lifting a large patient from the ends of the stretcher only.
It is fall and hunting seasons are here, be prepared to
go into the “back country” and into the “elements” by bringing along warm
clothes and boots while on call.
Thank you for volunteering with your local EMS agencies.
